First Note Drop

As I said in my last post, my first drop is going to be in a library book that I am returning. I just finished the book so I will be returning it some time tomorrow.

I was hoping I had some cute paper I could write notes on, but alas, I do not. Plain old computer paper will have to do until the next time I go to a store that would have some (hello, Target).

It's simple, but still able to brighten someone's day. In the future, I may stats hang quotes as well as simple uplifting phrases. As long as it can brighten someone's day, it works for me.

Please, join me in leaving these caring notes in random places so that, little by little, we can make the world a better place. Share with your friends, family, coworkers, a stranger passing by. I'm t doesn't matter who, just get the word out.

Keeping Track

I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but there should be some way that anyone who found a note inspired by this website will have a way to be brought to this blog to share their story and possibly be inspired to leave a note of their own.

I propose that somewhere on every note you leave you write the website for this address. Put it on the back, bottom corner, write it lightly so it acts as a watermark, etc. So long as you write http://lovenotestotheworld.blogspot.com/ somewhere on it to redirect them to this site.

I have a library that needs to be returned soon and I will be hiding my first note inside of that book. The book is due back to Stayton's public library, but is actually owned by Salem's. Since there is a movie based on this book coming out soon there are several holds on it so I know it will be found soon.

I have not yet decided what I will write in my note, but I think I will take some inspiration form what the book is about.

I'll post a picture of it before returning the book.

Keep leaving those wonderful notes!

Let's Get Started

You hear stories about what people have found in a library book they borrowed or a used book they purchased. Sometimes it's a simple receipt and other times it's more. There are also some people who have found money in items they purchase from the grocery store put there by a "mystery philanthropist."

Wouldn't it be nice to combine the two? Not all of us are able to leave $100 bills in cookie boxes at the grocery store, we are all able to write a short, uplifting note to leave for someone to find. That small little note may just brighten someones day.

Leave it in a book, put a note in the copier for the next person to use it to find, put a sticky note on a milk carton at the grocery store, give a kind note to your hairdresser to give to their next client, hand a note to the cashier, put a note in the pocket of a pair of pants at the store for the person who buys them. Anywhere you can put a kind note for someone to find later, do it!

A teen who got braces that day may no longer like the way they look, but if  they were to find a note in a book they pick up telling them that they're beautiful, it may make them feel a little less about them self.

A struggling single parent who it at their wits' end might see a note telling them to hang in there because it will get better and get a second wind allowing them to make it through the day.

I created this blog as a place to share notes that you have left or found.  It doesn't matter if you found a note a few hours ago or a few years ago, I would love to have the ability to help you share the impact it had on you.

Since this blog is new and I won't have posts from you to share, the first few posts will likely be sharing stories I find online of people finding or leaving notes.
